This nearly unmarked trail takes you through scree, features some short climbing on the "Moonlight Wall," and traverses the impressive Credner Glacier, leading you into the Reusch Crater and past the bubbling "Ashpit." It’s truly the most thrilling and inventive way to ascend Africa's tallest mountain! You’ll be amazed by the sheer scale of the Northern Icefield’s glaciers as you tackle Kilimanjaro with us. Our acclimatization plan, led by Arnold Coster, is spot on for this trek. We take our time hiking through lush rainforests, moorlands, and rugged lava landscapes across the Shira Plateau. At the final campsite near the "Lava Tower," you’ll be struck by the tranquillity of this secluded northern side, allowing you to soak in the peace and exclusivity. It’s only on the way down via the Mweka Route that we’ll see other trekkers again. This journey still feels like a true adventure, and you’ll view Kilimanjaro trekking in a whole new light after this experience. A trip to Tanzania is definitely worth it.

• Day 1

  Arrive at Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO)
  head to a hotel near Moshi for dinner. Spend the night at the hotel. (B&B)
• Day 2

  Enjoy a leisurely morning before kicking off the Kilimanjaro adventure
  You can catch a glimpse of Kilimanjaro's ice fields. We will take an acclimatization tour on rental bikes through lush coffee plantations and quaint villages at the mountain's base. Wrap up the day with dinner and another night at the hotel. (B&B)
• Day 3

  Hop on our bus to the Lemosho Gate (2385 m)
  start a gentle climb through the mountain rainforest to Big Tree Camp (Mkubwa Camp 2780 m). Experience your first night in a tent surrounded by trees, dining in a tent, and sharing sleeping arrangements or opting for a single tent if you prefer. (Full Board)
• Day 4

  It's all about acclimatization today!
  We’ll gradually ascend and descend through the stunning montane rainforest, then tackle a short stretch across the heathland to set up camp at Shira 1 (3500 m). This marks our first night above 3000 m. (Full Board)
• Day 5

  We’re taking it easy today with a hike to Shira Peak (3872 m) at Cathedral Point
  The views are incredible, often shrouded in mist over the Senecias, with the mountain rainforest far below. After soaking in the sights, we’ll head back for another night at Camp Shira 1 (3500 m). (Full Board)
• Day 6

  Our journey continues across the expansive moorland and heathland, passing Simba Cave to reach the camp at Moir Hut (4175 m)
  Nestled on steep rocky cliffs at the edge of the next vegetation zone, the camp is picturesque, with bubbling streams and stunning golden sunsets. We’ll stay here for two nights to fully acclimatize. (Full Board)
• Day 7

  From Moir Camp (4175 m), we’ll slowly ascend to our "high camp" at Lava Tower (4640 m)
  In this high alpine, barren landscape, we’ll be surrounded by lichens and hardy immortelle flowers, with the occasional lobelia. This hike over 4500 m will be beneficial for our bodies as we prepare for the next leg of the journey. (Full Board)
• Day 8

  Today, we’re heading up to the "high camp" at Lava Tower Camp, which sits at 4640 m
  It’s our last night before we tackle the summit! (Full Board)
• Day 9

  : It’s summit day! We kick things off at midnight with a climb up the pathless Moonlight Wall to reach the Northern Ice Field
  Expect some solitude on this journey. If the conditions are right, we’ll strap on crampons and tackle the Credner Glacier. After descending from the glacier, we’ll cross the Reusch Crater and make our way up to Uhuru Peak (5895 m) in the late morning. We’ll then head down via Stella Point and take the Mweka Route back to Barafu Camp (4640 m), continuing down to Millennium Camp (3790 m) surrounded by beautiful trees. The thrill of conquering the Kibo massif is incredible! We’ll spend one last night in the tent. (Full Board)
• Day 10

  We’ll descend through the lush mountain rainforest all the way to Mweka Gate (1630 m) near Moshi
  After enjoying lunch and some cold drinks at the gate, we’ll transfer to the hotel. Most flights leave at night from JRO. (Breakfast & Lunch)
